Anna Badalian was born in 1984 in Leningrad, Sovjet Union. She began playing the vioin at the age of 4 with A.M. Schwarzburg. When she was 6, she had  her first public performance in the State Academic Capella in Leningrad. Since the she had yearly solo performances. In 1996 she had her first performance with orchestra.

In 2001 Anna went to study the violin at the Noord Nederlands conservatorium (now Prins Claus Conservatorium), where in 2006 she got her teaching degree. In the same year, she went to study with
Tinta von Altenstadt at the Messiaen Academie.

During her studies in the Nederlands, Anna got scholarships from several institutions, like the Makarov Fonds (Nederland) and the Calouse Gulbenkian Foundation (Portugal). She attended masterclasses with G. Arutunian (Parijs), B. Van Oort (Amsterdam) and I. Ozim (Salzburg).

In 2009 she graduated at the Messiaen Academy in Zwolle and got her master.

From 2010 - 2013 Anna took lessons with Gordan Nikolic (concertmaster of the London Symfony Orchestra and artistical leader of the Nederlands Kamerorkest).

In 2012 Anne won the Wiener Krakauer competition in Austria ( and in september 2013 she was a soloist with the Pazardzhik Simfonie Orchestra in Bulgaria with the violinconcerto by J. Brahms.

In Anna’s musical development, especially the violinteachters of the Russian violinschool played a big part:
