The Argentinian tenor Emilio Aguilar (1989) began his musical education at the age of 9 with piano lessons at the Gilardo Gilardi Conservatory in Argentina. At the age of 15 he started singing lessons, after which he mostly sang. After completion of high school, Emilio studied conducting at the University of Bellas Artes (Argentina). In 2010, he began his studies at the classical music department of the Amsterdam Conservatory with Valerie Guillorit and in June 2015 he obtained his bachelor. Today he is coached by Margreet Honig. In september 2016, Emilio started his study conducting with Jos Vermunt at the Amsterdam Conservatory. At the moment, he concludes his last year of teacher training in the Feldenkrais Method in Germany with Mia Segal and Leora Gaster.

Emilio is co-founder of the Seconda Pratica ensemble, selected three times for the European Emerging Ensembles Project, by the end of 2015. He sings as tenor in several choirs in the Netherlands, including the Dutch Chamber Choir. Emilio performs regularly as a soloist in oratorios: Historia der Auferstehung Jesu Christi Schütz (evangelist), cantates 44, 106, 119 and 142 and the Magnificat and Hohe Messe of Bach, Haydn's Stabat Mater and in the opera L 'Orfeo (Monteverdi), Persée et Andromède (Lully), Bastien and Bastienne and The Zauberflöte (Mozart).
